In terms of popularity, the Big Bash League is certainly the biggest competitor of IPL till now. The Australian T-20 league features some of the best cricketers in the world. Big Bash started before the rise of IPL but the new version of it, the Big Bash League started in 2011. 8 teams take part in the competition; they are Adelaide Strikers, Brisbane Heat, Hobart Hurricanes, Melbourne Renegades, Melbourne Stars, Perth Scorchers, Sydney Sixers, and Sydney Thunder. So far the most successful team in the tournament is Perth Scorchers. They won the tournament 3 times. Let’s have a look at all the winners of the tournament so far.
Big Bash League Season 1 (2011-12) Winner: Sydney Sixers
The first season of the tournament was an exciting one with Sydney Sixers and Perth Scorchers meeting in the final. Perth Scorchers put on 156 for the loss of 5 wickets on board. Mitchell Marsh scored a brilliant 77. Batting second, Sydney Sixers chased the target with 1 over to spare and won the first season of the tournament. Moises Henriques was adjudged the man of the match for his scintillating 77 runs of just 41 balls. The player of the tournament was David Hussey.

Big Bash League Season 2 (2012-13) Winner: Brisbane Heat
The final of the tournament was this time between Perth Scorchers and Brisbane Heat. Brisbane Heat batted first and set a target of 168 for Perth Scorchers. Joe Burns tore the house apart with 43 of 27 balls. They defeated the Perth Scorchers by 34 runs. Kemar Roach was the highest wicket-taker for them with 3 wickets but Nathon Lyon was adjudged man of the match for his economical bowling. The player of the tournament this time was Aaron Finch.

Big Bash League Season 3 (2013-14) Winner: Perth Scorchers
After losing first 2 seasons in the finals, the Perth Scorchers won it this time against Hobart Hurricanes. Batting first, they scored a mammoth 191 runs. Shaun Marsh was the highest scorer with a brisk 63. The Hobart Hurricanes could only manage to score 152 runs in their respective quota of overs. Brad Hogg picked 3 wickets off just 17 runs and was rightfully adjudged the man of the match while Ben Dunk was named the man of the tournament.

Big Bash League Season 4 (2014-15) Winner: Perth Scorchers
Perth Scorchers won the League for the second time. This time it was against the Sydney Sixers. Sydney Sixers batted first and scored a modest 147 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. In reply, Perth Scorchers successfully chased the target in the last ball of the match. Shaun Marsh was adjudged man of the match of his inning of 77. Jacques Kallis was declared the player of the tournament.

Big Bash League Season 5 (2015-16) Winner: Sydney Thunder
Sydney Thunder met with Melbourne Stars in the finals this time. Batting first, Melbourne scored a competitive 176 for the loss of 9 wickets. Sydney Thunder chased the score with three balls to spare. Usman Khawaja was named man of the match for his gutsy 70 runs innings. The player of the tournament for the 5th season was Chris Lynn.

Big Bash League Season 6 (2016-17) Winner: Perth Scorchers
The Perth Scorchers won their third championship this year. They restricted the Sydney Sixers to a modest 141 for 9 bowling first. They chased the target easily with 4 overs remaining. Michael Klinger scored a match-winning 71. For his 3 wickets in the first innings, Jhye Richardson has adjudged the man of the match. For the second consecutive time, Chris Lynn was the man of the tournament.

Big Bash League Season 7 (2017-18) Winner: Adelaide Strikers
Winning the toss on the final day, Adelaide scored 202 for the loss of 2 wickets. Jake Weatherald scored a magnificent 115 of 70 balls. The Hurricanes can only manage 177 in their chase. Jake Weatherald was the man of the match without any question while D’Arcy Short was the man of the tournament for his batting masterclass.

Big Bash League Season 8 (2018-19) Winner: Melbourne Renegades
Melbourne Renegades won the title in extraordinary fashion, defeating their local rivals, Melbourne Stars, by just 13 runs. The Stars had victory in the palm of their hands, needing 53 from 42 balls, but a woeful collapse of seven wickets for 19 runs, achieved by the formidable work of the Renegades’ bowling attack, meant the Melbourne Stars were left with 28 required from the final over to win.

Big Bash League Season 9 (2019-20) Winner: Sydney Sixers
The 8th season of the tournament is in its full flow now. So, it’s really hard to decide who will win the season. The final of the 8-team tournament will be held on the 8th of February 2020. Right now, the Melbourne Renegades is on top but still a long way to go in the tournament so it can change very rapidly. Stars were worried about the rain but the real problem lay within themselves. It’s pouring down there again as the Sixers lift the trophy. Winners in 2012 and now again in 2020, while they wait for glory continues for Stars.

Big Bash League Season 10 (2020-21) Winner: Sydney Sixers
The 2020-21 Big Bash League winner Sydney Sixers is now tied with runner-up Perth Scorchers with three titles each after 10 editions of the BBL. James Vince guided Sydney Sixers to a solid 188/6 in the final of the domestic Big Bash T20 league. The English cricketer played a terrific knock of 90 runs off 60 deliveries, in an innings which was laced with ten boundaries and three maximums. Their bowlers did well to defend the target as they restricted the Scorchers to 161/9 to wrap up a 27-run victory.

Big Bash League Season 11 (2021-22) Winner: Who will win the Trophy?
The 10th season is going on now and all the teams are fighting very hard to get the top spot so it’s very tough to predict a BBL winner now. The winner of previous seasons Sydney Sixers is standing at the top. The final will held on the 6th of February 2021. We will update the name of the winner after the final.
