It has been over 12 seasons now and the 13^th is being hosted at UAE and during the months of September-November due to the uncertainty caused by COVID situation in India. Though the excitement level is still the same and the fans are pumped up to catch this year’s action too.

IPL Season 1 Winner Name (2008) – Rajasthan Royal

In the inaugural season, Rajasthan Royals had a gun team with the likes of Shane Warne, Shane Watson, Sohail Tanvir and many who led them to a thriller victory in the finals against Chennai Super kings by 3 wickets which was played at DY Patil stadium, Mumbai.

Due to safety measures, this season was held in South Africa where Deccan Chargers crossed the line against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the finals, winning by 6 runs at Johannesburg. Royal Challengers seemed to have won it easily but Deccan Chargers came back hard in the game and stole the title.

This season was utterly dominated by CSK with Mike Hussey, Matthew Hayden, Suresh Raina and Dwayne Bravo playing a major role in wining them the finals against Mumbai Indians by 22 runs at DY Patil stadium Mumbai.

Kolkata Knight Riders went on to do the impossible by beating the Chennai Super Kings in the finals by 5 wickets. The unsuccessful run of KKR in the previous seasons was broken by the Gambhir-led KKR which blew Sharukh Khan and Kolkata with happiness.
